It is not news that sugar is bad for you – though I sometimes wonder if people know just HOW bad it is for you?? Not just for your physical health, but for your mental well-being as well (high anxiety and crazy mood swings!).
Avoiding sugar when and where you can is always important. Also, try to eat anything sugary alongside complex carbohydrates and healthy fats to slow down how fast the sugar gets absorbed into your system (this is key!).
But what about those sugar cravings?? Not easy to ignore those, right??
TRY CHROMIUM.
How is Chromium related to sugar cravings?
The body uses chromium to produce a substance that helps with sugar metabolism and blood sugar balance. This will help to keep your mood and appetite stable.
Chromium improves the body’s response to insulin – in fact, symptoms of a chromium deficiency are similar to those with metabolic syndrome.
Chromium is found in several foods (onions, romaine lettuce, potatoes, tomatoes, beef, and red wine).
If you choose to take a supplement, use chromium picolinate, the most absorbable form of chromium. Dosage is typically 200 to 600 mcg/day, but always consult your doctor before you start any supplements.
Chromium helps – but it works best if taken while also lowering the amount of sugar in your diet.
